Thesis
Thesis
shall be a compulsory requirement for M.Phil Degree.
A
student who scores minimum 3.0 GPA (or ‘B’ Aggregate) in the comprehensive
examination be allowed to prepare his/her research synopsis, which will be
submitted to the Department Academic Committee for approval.
Each
student shall work under the supervision of supervisor/guide appointed for
this purpose by the Board of Studies. After the approval of synopsis, a
student will write his/her thesis during 3rd and 4th
semesters.
The
date for the submission of thesis shall be determined by the Department
Academic Committee.
The
Board of Examiners for thesis viva-voca shall comprise the Chairman of the
Department, the Internal Examiner, one External Examiner and one Referee
approved by the Department Academic Committee.
The
Board of Examiners may recommend revision and re-submission of thesis in case
the thesis is not up to the standard.
The
candidates shall submit 6 copies of the thesis according to the format
approved by the college. The
thesis which has been accepted shall become the property of the Government
College, Lahore.
Eligibility for Admission
A
candidates shall be eligible to apply for admission in the M.Phil program in
Physics if he/she possesses at least 45% mark or ‘B’ Aggregate in his/her
M.Sc. Physics.
Admission
to M.Phil will not be opened for non-subject candidates.
However the criterion of related fields for eligibility will be
determined by the Department Admission Committee.
Person
employed by the government or semi government agencies will also be eligible
to seek admission in the M.Phil. program.
Such candidates will required to submit N.O.C from their employer to be
enrolled as a full time student in this years program of M.Phil in Physics
Upper
age limit for admission to this M.Phil. program is 30 years, relaxable in
genuine cases.
Admission Criterion
Each
candidate shall be selected for admission in the M.Phil program on the basis
of cumulative merit out of 200 marks, to be determined form his/her previous
academic record and written and oral test.
The allocation of the marks for determining the merit shall be as
follows:
