Rules And Regulations.
1. Admission to various classes at the Government College Lahore is granted in accordance with the rules, regulations and the, policy of the College. Applications for admission will be accepted according to the schedule notified and no application form will be accepted after the last date notified. After the completion of all the necessary stages of the admission, the list of the successful candidates will be displayed at the Notice Board of the College. The admission of the students who fail to pay all their dues in time will be cancelled.
2. The old students of the college who were found guilty of misconduct and indiscipline or were penalized or fined as a result, will have no right to seek admission to B.A./B.Sc.
3. The maximum age limit for the candidates seeking admission to B.A./B.Sc., classes is twenty two years. The age limit is calculated from the last date notified for the acceptance of admission forms.
4. The applications of the students who are found to have an unbecoming character and conduct will be rejected. No appeal can be filed against the rejection.
5. Candidates for admission on Sports Basis are required to enclose a separate Sports Form, duly filled in for each game they wish to apply for. They must write the words, "Sports Basis" in Red Ink on the top of the Form.
As per schedule, admission forms
are available at the following branches of UBL.
1. Dyal Sing Mansion Branch (Regal) Lahore.
2. Wahdat Road Branch, Lahore.
3. L.M.C Branch, Lahore.
4. Liberty Market Branch, Lahore.
Note. The admission form is to deposited in the same branch of the bank from where it was obtained.
6. The Candidates for admission to B.A./B.Sc. Classes are interviewed on the dates notified and those who fail in the interview or are absent, will have no claim to admission, irrespective of the marks they may have obtained in the intermediate examination.
7. Only the candidates who passed in the intermediate examination 1997, Second Annual or 1998, First Annual, will be eligible to apply for admission.
8. After the admission
of a candidate, if it comes to the knowledge of the College Authorities, at
any stage, that the documents submitted by him for admission carry a misstatement
or are fake, or
there is a clerical error in these
which may affect his merit, his admission will be cancelled.
9. Dues once deposited will not be refunded
Admission on sports Basis:
1. The Candidates seeking admission on the basis of outstanding performance in sports are required to submit a "Sports Form" along with the usual "Admission form".
2. Attested Copies of the sports certificates must be attached to the forms. No sports certificate will be accepted after the last date.
3. The candidates will have to appear for the trials of the sports according to the programme given by the sports office.
4. The candidates recommended by the Sports Board on the basis of trials will have to appear for interview on the scheduled dates. The Candidates who remain absent or fail in this interview will have no claim for admission.
5. It is Compulsory for the students who are given admission on sports basis to represent the College in various competitions and to continue their practice regularly, failing which their admission will be cancelled.
6. Students securing admission on sports basis will in no case be allowed to represent, or seek employment with any government, semi-government institution such as Police, WAPDA, Railway, at the district, provincial or national level.
7. They must submit an affidavit in this regard along with the application form. Those who violate this rule will be struck off the College rolls. This decision cannot be challenged in any court of Law.
8. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the students who do not participate in their sport/game regularly.
9. The students who were admitted in the college on sports basis in Intermediate, will be considered for admission on sports basis in case they seek admission to B.A./B.Sc. classes in the College, and they will be under the same obligations as in Intermediate.
10. Students selected for admission on sports basis will be assigned to Medical, Engineering, General Science and Arts Groups, by the Admission Committee at the time of Interview on the basis of the candidates ability and aptitude. The decision of the Admission committee will be final. Admission on the basis of Cricket, Football, Hockey, Basket Ball and Volley Ball will be granted only in Humanities Group.
11. The admission on Sports Basis will be subject to the suitability of the candidate and the requirement in each game.
12. The candidates seeking admission on Sports Basis can apply for the following games/sports.

Provisional Admission on the Basis of Higher Senior Cambridge/ 'A' Level
Admission on the basis of Higher Senior Cambridge/ "A" Level is granted every year. Admission forms can be had from the UBL, G. C. Branch, Lahore. The students who seek admission on the basis of, Higher Senior Cambridge/ 'A' Level Should attach their result with the application form.
COLLEGE LEAVING AND RE-ADMISSION RULES
1. A student who intends to leave the College should apply to the Principal for this purpose. His application must be signed be his father or guardian also.
2. The, College leaving certificate will only be issued to a student who pays all dues to-date.
3. The name of-a student will be struck off the College rolls if he remains absent in a subject for three days or more in a month, continuously or otherwise, or if in the case of Pak. Studies, Islamiyat Compulsory or Practical periods he has posted 50% absence.
RE-ADMISSION
1. If a student's absence from College is for a genuine reason, the Principal may consider his application for re-admission. Such applications must be submitted within 15 days after the name of the applicant was struck off the College rolls. The fee for re-admission will be Rs. 2000/
2. A student whose name has been struck off the College rolls, for nonpayment of dues or for not appearing in the College tests or for remaining absent from classes for three days or more in a month, continuously or otherwise, may be allowed re-admission. If for some reason the re-admitted student's name is struck off the rolls again, he will not be eligible for a second re admission.
IN OTHER WORDS, RE-ADMISSION CAN BE GRANTED ONLY ONCE
1. The admission of a student who remains absent from the class for 15 days or more after depositing his dues, obtaining his roll number and after the class work has started should be considered as cancelled.
PAYMENT OF FEES AND OTHER DUES.
1. The college dues, (funds and other dues) must be paid on the dates notified by the College. Normally, dues for six months will be realized at the time of admission and for the remaining six months dues will be received as notified by the College.
2. If a student fails to pay his dues by the specified date he will be fined Rs.50/- per day.
3. In case he fails to pay the dues even one week after the last date for payment of dues, his name will be struck off the College Rolls and if he is allowed re-admission he will have to deposit Rs.2,000/- as re-admission fee.
4. For re-admission he will submit the application within 15 days after his name was struck off the College Rolls. No application will be entertained after the expiry of this period and the excuse of being on leave or absent from the College will not be considered.
5. Immediately after admission, students will be required to pay the following dues for the period May to October.

According to Government College
Rules, the Security deposit is refundable within two year after the end of
academic session after which it is not refundable. Refund be made only after
all college dues have been paid. .
FEE CONCESSION
1. The Principal has the authority to grant half fee concession to a specific number of deserving students.
2. Applications for fee concession have to be submitted by the students on the prescribed form after their admission in the College. These forms will be available from the College Office. Signatures of father or guardian on the forms are essential.
2. Fee concession will be given on the basis of good character, regular attendance and satisfactory performance in the academic field. The fee concession can be taken back in case of immoral behavior, irregularity and unsatisfactory performance. The students getting a fee concession can be assigned some duty in the college and hostel.
4. The fee concession can be withdrawn if the student fails in the examination. The concession in fees can be withdrawn from those students whose results in the college examination are unsatisfactory.
STUDENTS WELFARE FUND
Students Welfare fund, managed by a committee, provides financial assistance to the needy students of the College, who should contact President of the Committee for this purpose.
TUTORIAL SYSTEM
Every student is given membership of a tutorial group when admitted in the College. The president of the tutorial group is a teacher and is called a tutor. It is essential for every student to get a "Dossier Form" from the tutor at the earliest and to return it to the tutor after filling it in. Every student should contact his tutor in the first available time and enquire about his availability for consultation during a free period of the working days. It is compulsory for every student to present all his document i.e. application for relaxation in fee, concession in fine or application-for scholarship and character certificate etc., to the Principal through his tutor. The Principal will not issue any orders on the applications directly given to him. Tutorial groups have a weekly meeting in which attendance is compulsory. In case of absence from the tutorial meeting there is a fine of Rs. 50,- per meeting which cannot be remitted.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Specified scholarships of government and Local Bodies will be available in this College. The deserving Muslim students will be able to get stipends from Provincial Zakat Fund during the on-going year. The interested students should get an eligibility certificate from the Local Zakat Committee of the Area and submit the application to the Zakat and Usher Committee Office after getting it attested by the Principal.
TRANSCRIPT FEE
1. Students who apply for obtaining a transcript (certificate) will have to deposit a fee of Rs.50/- for each certificate, and for each additional copy fee of Rs.20/-
2. According to Government College Rules, the security deposit is refundable within two years after the end of the academic session, after which it is not refundable. Refund can be made only after all College dues have been paid.
4. ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE RULES
Attendance Rules are strictly observed in the College. Attendance requirements are as follows:
(i) In a year 80% lectures per course/paper. A student who has less than the required number of lectures (80% will have to repeat the course/paper)
(ii) A student who remains absent for three or more days in a month continuously or otherwise will be dropped from the college rolls. He may apply for re-admission but the application must be submitted within 15 days from the date of notification to the effect, that his name has been dropped.
(iii) Casual leave is not granted in the college however leave may be granted in special cases or on Medical Grounds.
(iv) Leave applications on medical grounds will have to be recommended and forwarded by the College Medical Officer. Leave applications should be submitted to Prof. Ali Iqtadar Mirza Deputy Registrar (Academics) in the Admission Office.
(v) In case of emergency the leave application will be referred to the Hardship Cases Committee.
LEAVE RULES
1. Leave forms can be obtained from the attendance clerk. Leave can only be sanctioned on the prescribed forms.
2. Students should present their applications for leave personally to Deputy Registrar (Academic)
3. Attendance in every Tutorial meeting is compulsory for all students. Absence from such meetings will entail a fine of Rs. 50/- per meeting. If a student remains absent from three tutorial meetings consecutively, his name will be struck off the college rolls.
4. Leave for one period can be given by the concerned teacher who will note this leave in his attendance register.
