DEPARTMENT OF URDU Post Graduate classes in Urdu were started in the Department soon after Pakistan came into being, through the good offices of Prof. Bokhari However, efforts to secure affiliation with the Punjab University remained infructuous. It was only in 1985 that following the long desired approval of Punjab Government as well as affiliation with the University, M.A. classes in Urdu could be started. Since then the Department has flourished and is truly vibrant with intellectual, literary and research activity. |

The Department has already produced a very impressive number of works of Research, Criticism and Creative writing. The Department takes out its research Journal entitled "Tehqeeque Nama" regularly.
